When the temperature dropped this weekend and the cold winds blew in I found myself staring out the window at the trees. There were two squirrels I could see jumping around. They obviously didn’t have many cares in the world. I was a little concerned they may fall with how wreckless it seemed they were moving about. I started thinking about 2022 and all that it has for me and for you (some surprises and some already known). As I began to wrestle with some of the changes I know of and wondered about the ones I don’t know... I opened my hands and my heart and I remembered that He is with me, He is for me, He is in control, He has provided and protected in the past and He will do it again as He wills. And I remembered where my help comes from... Psalm 121 was comforting to my heart as I thought about all the things. I hope it is for you as well!
“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven & earth. He will not let your foot slip—he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you—the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming & going both now & forevermore.” Psalm 121
What are you holding in your hand and/or heart that you need to let go of? What might you need to hold tighter to? What changes do you know of that are coming your way in 2022? What changes could you make? What changes should you make?
